Assessment
We evaluate the existing system, determine what has failed and why, and assess the current site conditions for the replacement design.
Some systems can be repaired. Others have simply reached the end of their service life, or were never designed correctly to begin with. When replacement is the honest answer, we do it right: proper site evaluation, a system designed for your land today, full county permitting, and a clean installation under one TCEQ license.
A septic system replacement is not just swapping out the old for the same thing. It is a chance to correct the original design, size the system properly for how the property is actually used, and choose a system type that is appropriate for current soil and code requirements. We approach replacements the same way we approach new installations, starting with what the site can actually support.
Common upgrade and replacement scenarios we handle: full drainfield replacement when the original field has saturated beyond recovery, tank replacement when the existing tank is structurally failing, conventional-to-aerobic system conversions when the lot cannot accommodate a new conventional field, and complete system replacement when an old unpermitted or non-code-compliant system needs to be brought up to current standards.
Properties in the Austin metro that were built decades ago frequently have septic systems that were designed under older rules with smaller capacity for the load they are now handling. Adding bedrooms, converting to full-time occupancy, or simply the passage of time and soil saturation can all make a replacement necessary. We evaluate the current system, the current site conditions, and what the property needs going forward, not just what it had before.
If your conventional system has failed and your lot does not have room for a new conventional field, an aerobic system may be the path forward. Aerobic treatment requires less drainfield footprint and can work on sites where conventional systems are no longer viable. We evaluate whether your site qualifies and explain the cost and maintenance difference before you commit.
We evaluate the existing system, determine what has failed and why, and assess the current site conditions for the replacement design.
New system designed for current conditions. OSSF permit filed and followed through approval. Same process as a new installation.
Old system abandoned or removed per county rules. New system installed cleanly with proper excavation and site restoration.
County inspector met for final approval. Permit documents delivered to you. System handed off with a clean record.
Tell us about the current situation and your property. We’ll schedule the site assessment and walk you through what the replacement would involve and cost.
